GLAS.tR is our chip resistant glass screen protector. It has all the great properties of the GLAS.t, but it's been improved to ensure even longer lasting durability. The R in GLAS.tR stands for the rounded edges of the screen protector. Being made of glass, the edges of the screen protector are the most vulnerable to chipping. Steinheil GLAS.tR is made to protect the LCD from damage and scratches with specially processed glass that has been reinforced to increase shock absorbency. The entire surface of the GLAS.tR is also transparent. When installed, there are no gaps between the LCD and the GLAS.tR which means the touch screen's sensitivity is unaffected.- Whole Transparency : GLAS.tR is 0.5 mm thick and made with chemically treated, transparent tempered glass.
- Surface hardness : 8~9H : The surface of the GLAS.tR has a hardness of 8-9H, three times stronger than regular PET film. Even shard objects such as knives and keys will not scratch the GLAS.tR.
- Oleophobic Coating : The GLAS.tR has an oleophobic coating that prevents fingerprints and other contaminants and makes the film easy to clean.
- Delicate Touch : The GLAS.tR is coated on the back with a strong silicon adhesive that makes installation easy and attaches the film firmly so as to not affect the touch screen's sensitivity.
- Anti-Shatter Film : If broken, the GLAS.tR breaks into small pieces that are not sharp, making it safer than other glass products.
CAUTION
* When removing for re-use, the adhesive properties might wear off to an extent where the screen protector will not adhere to the device. It is not recommended to reuse the GLAS.tR once it's been applied.
* Using excessive force when installing or removing the screen protector may damage the product.
Q. How do I install the GLAS.tR?
A. Use the provided alcohol swab to clean your iPhone 5 and make sure that the surface is completely dry and clean afterwards. The tab labeled "Back" is the protective film that covers the adhesive (sticky) side of the screen protector. The tab labeled "Front" is the protective film that covers the front of the GLAS.tR. Remove the Back tab and apply the screen protector to the iPhone 5 screen aligning with the cutouts. Squeegee any bubbles and then remove the Front tab when finished. The GLAS.tR is a one-shot install. This means that once the screen protector is applied completely to the iPhone, it cannot be removed and reapplied. Make sure the GLAS.tR is centered before laying down the GLAS.tR. The GLAS.tR is 0.4 mm thick and will recess the home button. For easy access to the home button, please apply the home button stickers provided with your GLAS.tR package.
Q. What kind of back screen protector does the GLAS.tR include?
A. The back screen protector that is included is our standard back screen protectors that are included in most of our cases and GLAS.t products. There will be three pieces, the top and bottom will be our best selling Ultra Crystal and the middle portion will be our Ultra Fine to mimic the velvety aluminum feel of the original iPhone 5 device. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any customizations for the back screen protector at this time
Q. What happens if I mess up on the installation or something goes wrong with my GLAS.tR?
A. You do not have to worry! Your GLAS.t is protected by our GLAS.t Low-Cost Replacement Program. Simply return the GLAS.t product back to us with the replacement form filled out completely. You can find the form here: www.spigen.com/need1more
Q. How do I remove the GLAS.tR?
A. The GLAS.tR can be removed by using a hard card like an ID or credit card. Lift the GLAS.tR with the card from any corner of the screen protector. Once the corner has been lifted off the iPhone, hold the corner and remove slowly. If the GLAS.tR cracks, it will not shatter. The GLAS.tR will not damage or leave residue on your iPhone screen.
Q. What cases will work with the GLAS.tR?
A. All of our SPIGEN SGP iPhone 5 cases will work with the GLAS.tR. For other brands, some slider cases may not work with the GLAS.tR. The GLAS.tR is 0.5 mm thick so if you have any doubts, please contact the case manufacturer.
Q. Is there anything I should take caution of when using the GLAS.tR?
A. The GLAS.tR is a product made of glass. While it is tempered to shatter within the film when dropped, there are some things that you need to be aware of when using the GLAS.tR. If you see that the screen protector has cracked, please remove the GLAS.tR from your device as this CAN be potentially harmful. Please take care that your device is not accessible to children if your GLAS.tR begins to crack.

Any notions of glass being fragile disappear when you see the tempered version... We set it over our iPhone screen and found the phone to be as touch-responsive as the naked screen itself.
If your priority is to maintain the shiny perfection of the screen and keep it unsullied by fingerprints, the SGP iPhone 5 Glas.t screen protector at [$27.99] may be just the thing.
Most screen protectors are just a thin layer of flexible plastic that do an adequate job at shrugging off scratches. But they're nowhere near as tough as Spigen's new GLAS.t which adds another layer of glass for maximum protection.
I especially like the fitting method. Slide the protector into place, press the center and the adhesive creeps betwixt screen and cover all by itself.

Quality Design Value I have had my Glas.tr screen protector on my iPhone5 for about 5 months now and it is just as gorgeous and sleek looking as the first day I installed it! I remember somewhere on your website you had some information on the type of cases that the "tr" would work with and others that were NOT recommended because of the extreme tight fit where you would have to force the case on, which could possibly cause damage to the "tr". Well, I originally had an OTTERBOX Defender case and it was an ideal match in between the shield protector and the case, but when the MOPHIE JUICE PACK for iPhone5 was introduced, I experimented with it and In my opinion, I get a better fit using the combination of the Glas.tr and the Mophie than I did using Otterbox. Both have value, but from the perspective of the iPhone's battery life, I like having the capability of that extra battery power of the Mophie. Once again, thanks for such a wonderful product. Once you experience the Glas.tr, you'll NEVER use anything else.

Quality Design Value I wanted to love the Glas.tR, but unfortunately I can't. Both of the Glas.tR screen protectors that I've received did not adhere to the top left edge of my phone, no matter how hard I pressed or how I applied the screen protector (which, this aside, is flawless). I can only surmise that in the manufacturing process, there have been consistent errors in adhesive application.
CS was nice, but they'll only send you one replacement - and then ask (if the replacement didn't work) to send in BOTH, on your dime. If you get one that works, good for you - but I'd recommend staying away from the Glas.t line due to the adhesive issue (if you want proof, search up "adhesive gate")(Posted on 4/24/13)

Quality Design Value This is the best screen protector i have had in my history of owning a touch screen phone. the product though does not live up to expectation of it being scratch proof im very careful never drop my phone i put my phone in my pocket by itself to avoid scratchs and it seems my pocket scratches this screen protector on its own nice but not worth 35. i have only owned it for 2 days

Quality Design Value I bought the Glas.TR in January and have waited to review it so I can describe how it stands up to my life. Which it does very well.
Being my first screen protector application, I was quite nervous, especially considering that, living in a university residence, I don't have either a kitchen or a bathroom in which to apply it. Happily, it went on without a hitch, and is still well stuck on three plus months later.
Although the small cloth that came with the protector did more harm than good in the cleaning department. I strongly suggest you use your own, and that you also use a glasses cleaner if you have one.
As far as how the screen feels, I noticed a bit of a difference immediately after I put it on, but nothing compared to plastic screen protectors. In general, no one notices that I have a screen protector on unless I tell them.
The oleophobic coating doesn't remove all fingerprint/faceprint (if you actually make calls) problems, but it does make them much easier to clean off. At least at first. It seems to be wearing off now, although I do occasionally use glasses cleaner on the screen protector, and that may be a contributing factor.
Under conditions of use with little concern for protecting the phone, so far the Glas.TR has only sustained a couple of minor scratches. But, hey, isn't that why it's a screen protector, so the protector and not the screen gets scratched?
Overall, a good product for protecting against everyday wear and tear. I haven't had the chance to test it against catastrophic drops yet, though.(Posted on 4/17/13)

Quality Design Value Best screen protector for the iphone ever! Hey Spigen...release one for the ipod touch 5th generation PLEASE!!! Using a Zagg and its' just not the same. I'm spoiled.
